Answer:

Discussing about this culture, let alone foreign cultures, there are many kinds of cultures that exist in Indonesia.  To avoid cultural conflicts, of course the most important thing is to maintain good manners in speaking even though you do not know how the cycle of speaking in the foreign culture is.  In addition, exchange information about between cultures, namely our own culture and foreign cultures.  When exchanging information about our culture, do not occasionally make the mistake of worsening one culture.  And also we shouldn't go too far about our own culture.  That way he will also understand and vice versa.  Slowly begin to understand the person's character and if when exchanging information we accidentally make a mistake in understanding it, immediately conducive the situation by slowly diverting the conversation.

2.     How do you define your local culture is different from foreign culture? Do you think local and foreign cultures need to be integrated? Please provide your reasons! (35 points)

Answer:

In my opinion, local culture is a habit that is difficult to change which originates from the region or the country itself, while foreign culture is a habit that comes from abroad or is called western culture.  Speaking of integration, I agree that these two different cultures are integrated.  But not everything about the culture is integrated.  Because every culture certainly has differences and not all can be accepted by the users of that culture.  By taking positive things, such as foreign cultural education which has a very good history.  But not with foreign cultural clothing, the majority of which are non-Muslim.  Because with the majority of Muslims in our culture, of course we cannot integrate it in our culture.

3.      What is stereotype and prejudice? Does it exist in your local culture? Give examples! ( 30 points)

Answer:

Stereotype is an overgeneralization of a person based on existing traits in the form of race, ethnicity or religion.  These stereotypes are called shortcuts in thinking to simplify complex things and can also help in making decisions quickly. Stereotypical attitudes are difficult to change, even though what becomes stereotypes is different from reality Prejudice is making a decision without or before knowing the form of relevant facts about the object.  Prejudice is also divided into 3 parts, namely cognitive, affective, and conative.  Cognitive refers more to what is considered true, whereas affective refers to what is liked or disliked and finally conative refers to how a person's tendency to act.

Of course there is.  In my area, stereotypes are more dominant, namely one's assessment of perceptions. Example; Many Chinese people are considered rich and rich, even though there are also many Chinese people whose lives are simple and ordinary.
