Question:

Give your own idea/opinion for the following points:

1.     What is media in teaching? How many teaching media types do you know?Explain!

Answer:

In my opinion, we can call learning media as a tool in the teaching and learning process which consists of several types. All forms are used to stimulate thoughts and feelings as well as abilities and skills. As for the types of learning media that I know, namely, audio, video, visual, multimedia and audio video.

·         Audio, this learning medium functions as a channel for audio messages (voice) from the sender to the recipient. This media is closely related to hearing because of its kind in the form of sound. This audio learning media can convey in the form of spoken language or words which are called verbal and some are in the form of sounds which are called non-verbal.

·         Audio visual, a type of learning media that can display sound and images. Audio visual also has 2 parts, among others; silent audio visual consisting of; voiced page and silent TV. And audio-visual motion also has several, namely; Tv movies, Tv, sound pictures and sound films.

·         Visually, this learning medium uses the organs of sight. The tool used is in the form of a projector, this visual functions as an explanation of ideas and is also able to describe facts that we can easily digest. Visual is also divided into two, namely silent visual media in the form of; illustrations, photos, diagrams, flashcard posters. And also motion visual media in the form of; projection images move like silent film.

·         Audio visual, a type of learning media that can display sound and images. Audio visual also has 2 parts, among others; silent audio visual consisting of; voiced page and silent TV. And audio-visual motion also has several, namely; Tv movies, Tv, sound pictures and sound films.

·         Multimedia, this learning media is a combination of several media in the form of audio, video, photo images and so on. Multimedia is certainly very easy in the learning process because besides it consists of several media, multimedia can also provide complete understanding to students.

 

2.      Why teacher needs media in teaching?(25 points)

Answer:

In my opinion, the reason teachers really need learning media in the teaching and learning process is because the teacher's ability to teach cannot fully be able to make students understand in learning. Because the abilities of each student are different, there are those who record when gru explains, when the teacher only provides writing and so on. This learning media can also eliminate students' saturation with the diversity of media, both in the form of videos which will be shown a film to students as one of the learning materials. And this will make it easy for students to understand the material presented.

 

3.      What are the criteria of good teaching media? (25 points)

Answer:

In my opinion, the criteria for a good learning media are;

1. Media that can meet the needs of teaching or in terms of what is needed.

2. Practical media

3. Media that is easily available

4. Media in accordance with the way students think

5. Media, of course, also in accordance with the situation and environmental conditions

6. And finally, the media that fits the ability of the teacher

 

4.     Do you think that teaching media needs to be developed?why? (25 points)

Answer:

In my opinion, it is absolutely necessary. Because with this increasingly sophisticated era, if the media is also developed, of course there will be facilities in providing learning to students with the aim of students easily capturing what is conveyed by the teacher through the media.
