2. Give one example of cultural conflict and offer the solution for its adjustment!
Answer:
I take this example directly from an incident that I often see and often happens.
Conflict;
One of the cultural conflicts in Indonesia is about the entry of foreign cultures to Indonesia. The problem that is often discussed is the culture of open clothing which is also often used in Indonesia. Actually, this is the right of everyone, but with Indonesia, which is predominantly Muslim, it is very incompatible with the open clothes brought by foreign cultures and used in Indonesia.
Solutions for customization:
Everyone has the right to follow any culture, but it would be better if the culture of clothing is also used properly and in an appropriate place so that unpleasant things don't happen. And because the majority of Indonesia has the most Muslims, it is very against such open clothing. Moreover, if the clothes are used with a Muslim it will also tear the heart of another Muslim because it is tantamount to not respecting his religion. For that reason, we are smarter about comparing the good and the bad and adjusting the place in bringing the outside culture.
3. How do you define:
a. Mosaic
Answer:
A mosaic is an area in which there is a mixture of cultures, tribes and languages where they all live side by side. Mosaics are also interpreted to fight for the ideals of multiculturalism or people who live in an area with different cultures.
b. Melting pot
Answer:
Melting pot is defined as a symbol of a society that has a cultural background that mingles with the group and then leaves their respective cultural traditions.
c. Stereotype
Answer:
Stereotype is an assumption that is deciding to simplify complex things so that it can help in making decisions quickly based on their membership.
d. Prejudice
Answer:
Prejudice is an assessment / opinion of someone which is solely based on one's membership in a particular social group, this assessment usually often occurs due to the large number of baseless assumptions.
